Great Chattahoochee Paint Out

August Heat
6 x 8 Oil on Linen Panel

Chattahoochee Backwater
8 x 10 Oil on Linen Panel

I painted in Roswell along the Chattahoochee River along with 75 other artists in the first Great Chattahoochee Paint Out from Wednesday, August 12 through Friday, August 14. Each artist then selected 2 pieces to enter in a juried show and reception held at the National Recreation Area headquarters on Saturday night. The event was hosted by the National Park Service, the Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau and artist Joan Hilliard. The Bank of North Georgia donated the prize money for the awards and Brown and Company donated a piece of jewelry for the first prize winner. Thanks to the event organizers who did such a fabulous job in it's first year. I look forward to the next one.
These are the two paintings that I entered. After the reception, the painting Chattahoochee Backwater was purchased by a collector from Cartersville.
